There is nothing like bringing a new baby home to love and care for. Although a rewarding process, following giving birth, keeping up with your baby’s needs to be soothed, fed, and changed can be a struggle. I understand these challenges as a midwife and am happy to offer baby care suggestions for new mothers who could benefit from additional support after a baby joins their family.
In my experience, many new mothers struggle with breastfeeding in the early days after bringing their baby home. Know that getting used to breastfeeding and doing so successfully takes both time and perseverance on your end and on your baby’s end. After your baby arrives, I can teach you helpful techniques for enhancing the feeding process, so you feel confident your baby is getting enough and you are encouraged to continue your breastfeeding journey.
Baby care is not always intuitive or easy, especially if this is your firstborn. I want to assure you that feeling overwhelmed after your baby is born is completely normal, and as your midwife, I am here to help you make this transition as beneficial as possible.
