My name is Damaris Pittman, and I’m a Certified Professional Midwife licensed to practice in South Carolina. With over 30 years of homebirth experience under my belt, I am still awed at how unique each birth is!
Today’s midwifery is a blend of current, evidence-based practices and the personalized art of woman-to-woman care. Midwife means “with woman,” so my role is not to direct mothers, but to accompany them on their journeys. Parents who are actively involved in all decisions and responsibilities that affect them and their baby have found the best path to a safe, healthy, and happy birth.
