Although not for every mother, a home birth does have many advantages compared to giving birth in the hospital. For instance, when you choose a home birth, you can eat and drink what you want when you want as you labor. You also get to choose the people you want to come to the birth and the role they will play in the process. Additionally, you can include siblings to whatever extent you feel comfortable during labor & delivery and afterwards.
A home birth ultimately lets you set the tone for the process and allows you to labor and deliver in an environment you are familiar with and comfortable in. As your midwife, I can help you determine if a home birth is a good option for you, and if it is, help you fully prepare for the day you deliver.
